Platt/Whitelaw Architects is a full-service architectural firm, dedicated to public and community based projects.

Our approach to design relies heavily on open communication between all members of the design team, including clients, users and community groups. We strive to create buildings that serve their users and communities now and into the future, creating designs that comply with the rules of function but break free from the ties of predictability.

Project types include educational facilities, libraries, parks and recreation, life safety facilities, justice facilities, administration/operation/maintenance facilities, religious institutions, affordable housing and historic preservation. Platt/Whitelaw’s public agency clients include municipalities, school districts, and local & state agencies.

Michele Grace Hottel

Michele Grace Hottel, Architect is a firm practicing Architecture, Interiors, and Visual Arts, specializing in Custom and multi-family Residential and smaller Commercial and Institutional projects since 1994.

Prior to her current practice, Michele was a consultant with other Architecture and Engineering firms in the Los Angeles and San Diego areas for twelve years before and after attending Cal Poly, Pomona for Architecture. One can read her blog, "I've never met a woman architect before..." a blog about my life... , the trials and tribulations, as one could say, of being a woman, a mother, a wife, a volunteer, a public servant, and last but not least, an architect.

Michele is also a Commissioner and Subject Matter Expert for the California Architects Board, a City of La Mesa Planning Commissioner in her third term, the Chair of the American Institute of Architecture (AIA) Custom Residential Architecture Network (CRAN) for the AIA San Diego and Palomar Chapters. She also served as the Chair of the Committee for AIA California's Inaugural Housing Forum for attainable housing. In addition, Michele served on the Board and Past President of the La Mesa Arts Alliance, served as a La Mesa Parks and Recreation Board Member, a La Mesa Centennial Planning Committee member and lead the Centennial Legacy Project Subcommittee.

Pacific Cornerstone Architects Inc. (PCA) is a full-service design firm offering integrated design services to our clients since 1994. PCA offers planning, architecture, interior design, and sustainable design services to a diverse base of clients in all areas of architecture.
