AIA San Diego Welcomes New Executive Director, Bennett Peji

A Message from Bennett

“I am thrilled and honored to be the new executive director of AIA San Diego. For nearly 100 years, this chapter has helped create the magnificent city and region we call home. And in 2026, we’ll host the AIA National Convention here in San Diego for the first time in two decades. It’s a historic opportunity for our city, our architectural community and everyone who loves seeing what it takes to make a great city.

In these uncertain times, your participation matters more than ever. Getting involved in the causes that matter to you strengthens our civic life and helps us design a better future together. If you care about the built environment and the character of our neighborhoods, let’s connect. Together, we can shape the future of San Diego.”

Looking Ahead

Under Bennett’s leadership, AIA San Diego remains committed to:

  • Supporting architects at every stage of their careers

  • Advocating for equity, diversity, and inclusion in design

  • Elevating the profession as a force for thriving communities

  • Preparing to showcase San Diego on the national stage in 2026

We’re honored to welcome Bennett to this role and look forward to an inspiring chapter ahead.
