On Saturday, January 29, 2022, Daniel Nick Salerno, loving husband, father, and grandfather passed away unexpectedly but peacefully in Carson City, NV.
Daniel (aka Dan) was born on June 15, 1930, in Los Angeles, CA. He graduated from USC with a bachelor’s degree in Architecture. Dan met his beautiful wife Virginia at a church dance, and they were married shortly after in 1960. They were married for almost 62 years.
Dan and Virginia moved to San Diego, CA where he started a very successful Architectural firm, Salerno Livingston & Partners which is still in operation today. He also obtained his master’s degree in real estate at National University. Dan and Virginia raised their family and lived in San Diego for almost 30 years before retiring in Incline Village, NV in 1991. They moved to their final home in Carson City, NV in 2013. Dan stayed busy designing and building several homes from the ground up, serving on multiple planning commissions as well as holding positions on different boards.
In his later years he enjoyed serving as a volunteer sheriff for the Carson City sheriff’s office. Dan loved traveling all over the world with his wife and spending time with his family and friends.
Dan was preceded in death by his father John, his mother Lena and most recently by his loving wife Virginia who passed just 2 months before he did.
He is survived by his children Darren (and Connie), Danna (and Bill) and Gina. Also, by his grandchildren Brittany, Danny (and Kay), Steven, Marc, Anthony and Dylan, and great granddaughter Violet, as well as his brother Nick (and Lorraine) and many nieces and nephews.
He was a kind and wonderful man and will be deeply missed but will live on forever in our hearts.
