About the Role: We’re looking for a talented Entry Level Designer to join our San Diego team. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to gain real-world experience across all phases of a project. You’ll collaborate with architects and other design professionals to prepare permit documents, work closely with San Diego Development Services, and support our design team in maintaining high-quality standards. It’s an exciting chance to be part of a multidisciplinary team and learn the full development process.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Assist with Permitting: Support the Job Captain in preparing permit documents and coordinating with consultants and building departments.

  • Ensure Quality: Help maintain drawing standards and conduct quality control to ensure consistency across architectural documents.

  • Contribute Creatively: Participate in design and presentation efforts that bring projects to life.

  • Coordinate with Teams: Work with the field teams to ensure BIM coordination and effective communication between all project disciplines.

  • Get Involved: Attend project team meetings and actively contribute to discussions and decisions.

  • Understand Codes: Become familiar with building and life safety codes to ensure all designs comply with regulations.

  • Create Visuals: Help prepare renderings and other materials for project presentations.

  • Other Duties: Pitch in on various tasks, including office management and ad-hoc responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications/Candidate Requirements:

  • You’ve completed or are in the process of completing a Bachelor of Architecture degree.

  • You have 1+ years of architectural office experience (preferred, but not required).

  • Your portfolio demonstrates your creative abilities, and you have a keen eye for design and detail.

  • You are a team player with strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.

  • You are proficient in ArchiCAD, AutoCAD, Rhino, Adobe Creative Suite, and Lumion, and are open to learning new software.

  • You are curious about architecture beyond design, with an interest in how projects are built and developed.
