September 1, 2016 JONATHAN SEGAL FAIA HOSTS SERIES OF TALKS WITH NATION’S TOP RESIDENTIAL ARCHITECTS
Architect/Developer brings AIA Fellows to San Diego for MASTERS OF A GENERATION.
SAN DIEGO, CA - Architect Jonathan Segal, FAIA, is inviting close friends and fellow AIA Fellows to San Diego for MASTERS OF A GENERATION, a series of talks as part of his new non-profit, ADjoin. The first of the 13-part series takes place on September 30th with Los Angeles architect Lorcan O’Herlihy FAIA of LOHA Architects. MASTERS OF A GENERATION talks will take place in Segal’s North Parker project surrounded by his collection of restored vintage cars. Tickets are $35 and include a pre-talk meet and greet cocktail and post-talk Q&A. A limited number of $160 tickets will extend the evening to include all talk activities followed by an intimate “Stand-Up Supper” at Segal’s private penthouse at The Q overlooking Little Italy and San Diego Bay.
O’Herlihy’s talk will be followed by other AIA Fellows from across the nation, including Tom Kundig, FAIA, David Jameson, FAIA, Anne Fougeron, FAIA, Robert M. Gurney, FAIA, Joeb Moore, FAIA, Rick Joy, FAIA, David Baker, FAIA, Wendell Burnette, FAIA, Marlon Blackwell, FAIA, Trey Trahan, FAIA, Lawrence Scarpa, FAIA and Steve Dumez, FAIA. MASTERS OF A GENERATION talks are designed to recognize and pay tribute to the ongoing legacies of these modern masters and Segal contemporaries to expose their varying approaches to and processes of creating works of great architecture, and to learn more about their defining moments and the paths leading up to them. Segal also hopes to further the appreciation of and opportunities for multi-generational information exchange. “In showcasing these individuals who have made lasting contributions to our culture, society and built environment,” he explains, “we bring the insights and the unwritten education of a multitude of hard earned lessons to the next generation of design professionals.”
100% of net proceeds from MASTERS OF A GENERATION will support various other nonprofit organizations for the relief and rescue of abused and neglected canines throughout San Diego and Baja, California, a cause that Jonathan and his family - wife Wendy, daughter Brittany, and son Matthew, are passionately committed to.
