Delawie Promotes Alison Morita, AIA, LEED AP, to Associate Alison Morita, AIA, LEED APSan Diego, CA (July 22, 2016)—Delawie, a San Diego-headquartered architecture firm, recently announced the promotion of Alison Morita, AIA, LEED AP, to Associate. In her new role, Alison will embrace responsibilities beyond her projects. She will leverage her experience to provide leadership and mentorship for the firm’s staff.

“We are pleased to recognize Alison’s contributions to our firm and the professional practice of Architecture,” said Principal, Andrew Rodrigues, AIA. “Alison’s talents go beyond the drawing board. Our clients benefit from her insightful problem solving skills and her positive design direction and project management.”

Alison received her Bachelor of Architecture degree from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, in 2002 and joined Delawie in 2005. She became a licensed architect in California in 2013 and is a USGBC LEED Accredited Professional.

Alison has been deeply involved in the American Institute of Architects (AIA) at a regional, state and national level. She served as the chair of the AIA San Diego Young Architect of the Year Awards Program from 2006-2007, and was a Board Member for the AIA San Diego Emerging Professionals from 2008-2010. In 2010, Alison won the AIA National Associates Award. She was on the AIA National Board Community Committee from 2012-2013 and was the AIA San Diego Secretary Treasurer from 2011-2013. Alison was on AIA California Council’s Now Next Future Conference Committee in 2014 and rejoined the Committee in 2016.

Alison’s expertise in hospitality design has been exemplified by the execution of large-scale hotel, private club and corporate projects including the Spa at the L’Auberge Del Mar in Del Mar, California, the Residence Inn Maui Wailea in Maui, Hawaii, and the Modern Honolulu, formerly the Waikiki Edition, in Honolulu, Hawaii. Her experience in higher education includes several projects for the San Diego Community College District’s Mesa College.
