AIACA ONLINE CONTINUING EDUCATION OPPORTUNITIES
AIA San Diego is pleased to announce a continued partnership with AIA California to provide quality, online continuing education to the architectural community. Through the AIA California’s online CE provider, aecKnowledge, AIA members have access to a highly diversified library of online course offerings, each one professionally developed and delivered by industry leaders. This partnership provides AIA San Diego members an opportunity to fulfill their mandatory accessibility CE requirements for license renewal, fulfill CES requirements (including HSW requirements) for membership renewal, with the ability to choose from a wide range of subjects in design, sustainability, accessibility, marketing and business development, practice management, project delivery, and small firm practice. These online courses allow you to earn CES credits at your convenience in an easy-to-use format. All AIA members receive valuable CES learning units, which are automatically reported on your behalf, downloadable transcripts and substantial price discounts.

2020/2021 Accessibility Course Bundle
This years courses includes a 4-part series bundle regarding designing for accessibility. The series includes:
An AIA Whitney M. Young Jr. Award recipient’s guide to designing accessible hotels and resorts,
an advocate for disability rights,
Discussing how long-held social misconceptions and assumptions about disability inform design,
A case study of how the widely-acclaimed historical renovation of the Ford Foundation Center for Social Justice resulted in a more inclusive design,
The Commissioner for the City of Chicago’s Mayor’s Office for People with Disabilities discussing how Chicago is becoming one of the most accessible and inclusive cities in the nation,
A provocative panel discussion that sheds light on why the disability community often states “Nothing About Us Without Us.”
Members can purchase this 4-part series here. The series provides the required 5 hours of accessibility training required to fulfill their California license renewal. The course can be bought separately, or as a bundle.
