Primal Architects is a San Diego architecture studio designing custom retreats across the American West, including cabins, residences, and boutique hospitality. We work in remote and rural settings where climate and terrain drive the design. Our focus is high-performance construction, durable materials, and thoughtful craft. Founder and principal architect Kyle Rowbotham started the practice in 2023, after more than a decade in residential and commercial architecture. Every project begins with the conditions of its site.
