Moving Boundaries Nordic X – Design for Health and Wellbeing

2-Week Interdisciplinary Course/Conference in Neuroscience, Cognitive Science and Environmental Psychology Applied to Architecture, Interior Design and Lighting Design. Learn from architects and scientists: 20 globally recognized experts in neuroscience, biology, psychology, architecture and design will teach in person. The 2-week course in Stockholm and Helsinki includes lectures, masterclasses, workshops, social events and tours of work by Alvar Aalto, Juhani Pallasmaa, Sigurd Lewerentz, Gunnar Asplund and Juha Leiviska. Experience beautiful Nordic landscapes, design, music and cuisine.

Sub-Topics covered: Multisensory perception in architecture and design; perception and behaviour; dynamic experience; architectural atmospheres and mood; daylight; emotional, material and haptic qualities of light and colour; circadian rhythms; ecology and restorative environments. Lectures are presented in a dialogical format by architects, scientists, and biologists.
