Job Description: FLINT is currently hiring an Architectural Job Captain to support our in-house architects and VDC (Virtual Design & Construction) staff. A Job Captain should be skilled in utilizing Revit to produce all phases of architectural and VDC design documents under an architect’s direction. The Job Captain should have working knowledge of building systems, architectural drawings, specifications, permitting, codes, and regulations.

Qualification/Candidate Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture, construction, management or related fields.

  • 3+ years of work experience in commercial architecture, ideally K-12 or higher education work.

  • Understanding of DSA permitting process.

  • Experience coordinating with interior, structural, mechanical, electrical, carpentry, and construction team members.

  • Someone who picks up software quickly. Revit experience is a must. Other software can be learned on the job.

  • A knowledge seeker who will ask why and research things they do not understand.

  • Works well under pressure and in a deadlinedriven environment.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • A humble team member who will support others and accept support from others to meet FLINT’s goals.

Description

We are seeking qualified candidates for the position of Assistant Project Manager to support the estimating and project management of multiple concurrent construction projects throughout the United States. The candidate would report to the company's West Coast office in San Diego, with extensive travel required to construction jobsites throughout the country.

Prior experience in supporting multimillion dollar construction projects required, with public sector government projects a plus. The ideal candidate would have at least three years of experience in construction or a related field, with an interest in learning multiple facets of the construction business, including:

Estimating: Support each step of the bidding process for securing new project opportunities; includes administrative setup, attending site visits, subcontractor outreach, product research, blueprint take-offs, meticulous follow up and tracking.

Project Management: Support all aspects of running a construction process; includes administrative organization, subcontractor relations, enforcement of quality control and safety, critical path method scheduling, submittal reviews, invoicing, budgeting.

General Operations: Support the general needs of a small business atmosphere with an open-minded attitude towards wearing multiple hats.
Successful Assistant Project Managers grow into either estimating or field project management roles.

Qualification/Candidate Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in construction or related fields

  • Ability to travel to out-of-region projects when called upon

  • True passion for safety and the enforcement of such on construction project sites

  • Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and with effectively in both verbal and written domains

  • Desire to work together cooperatively with others

  • Positive, self-confident, assertive attitude

  • Belief in adaptability and the need for continuous self-improvement

  • Proficiency in Bluebeam and Primavera

  • Satisfactory background check and drug testing for access to high security government locations

  • Experience with design-build, historic preservation, elevator systems, or LEED green building
