Description:

Don’t know a lumen from a foot candle? This course is for you! Whether you are new to the art and science of lighting, or simply need a refresher on the unique language of lighting, this 90-minute course will provide the foundation to allow attendees to “talk the talk”.

Learning Objectives:

1. Define common lighting terms including those that describe how humans perceive light and factors that affect visibility.
2. Recognize common metrics that quantify and describe lighting properties.
3. Evaluate the evolution of light sources and compare each technology’s primary characteristics.
4. Identify resources for further information.
