Designing the Most Complex Hospital Project During the Pandemic in San Diego
Join the AIA San Diego Academy of Architecture for Health roundtable discussion on the journey underway for the procurement, programming, planning, design, cost control measurement, and execution of design management of one of the largest and most complex hospital projects in San Diego during the pandemic. The panelists will discuss how the pandemic impacted the one-team approach, design process, user group meetings, client approval, and day-to-day design management. The team will also discuss the collaboration of the design-build team to tackle challenges and mitigate risks within a virtual environment and how the team was able to promote a collaborative environment by changing behaviors within the team and across all stakeholder groups within the Sharp Memorial Healthcare System.
