Join AIA San Diego's Preservation & Reuse Committee and Committee on the Environment (COTE) for an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of the $160 million restoration of the historic Hotel del Coronado. Led by David Marshall, AIA of Heritage Architecture & Planning, this in-person event highlights how sustainability and historic preservation can complement each other.

Hear directly from the design and construction team, including a historian from The Del and representatives from Swinerton Builders, about how missing historic features were replicated from archival photos, non-Victorian alterations were removed, and sustainable systems like all-new HVAC and added insulation were integrated. The tour also includes ADA upgrades, decorative lighting, new guestroom design, and courtyard landscaping.
