REGIONAL DESIGN ADVISORY COUNCIL MONTHLY MEETING

Join RDAC for a conversation with Eden Brukman, Chief Sustainability Officer for the County of San Diego, about the County's new Regional Decarbonization Framework.

Come and learn about key strategies for achieving decarbonization, how shifting towards a zero-carbon future will affect the design of our public realm, and why decarbonization is an equity issue that must be addressed across all communities in our region.

Guest Speaker:

Eden Brukman, Chief Sustainability Officer

Eden Brukman serves as the Chief Sustainability Officer for San Diego County, leading the Office of Sustainability and Environmental Justice. With over 20 years of experience, she has worked in various locations, including Portland, the UK, Los Angeles, and the Bay Area. Previously, she contributed to the San Francisco 2021 Climate Action Plan.

A UC Berkeley and Edinburgh College of Art graduate, she holds a B.A. in Architecture, a minor in Visual Studies, and a Master of Design. She has received awards such as the Women in Sustainability Leadership Award and the Buckminster Fuller Challenge and is a LEED Fellow and Living Future Hero.

Brukman, inspired by San Diego’s environmental justice efforts, aims to help create a region where everyone can enjoy a clean and healthy environment.
