ALL ABOUT O&O:
Orchids & Onions (O&O) is an educational program held annually by the San Diego Architectural Foundation (SDAF). The program is dedicated to the promotion of outstanding architecture, planning, and urban design throughout the San Diego region and is the only interactive, community-based program geared towards raising awareness and encouraging practical discourse in response to San Diego's built environment.
For the first time in O&O's history, and in celebration of the San Diego-Tijuana region's designation as the World Design Capital for 2024, the program opened Orchid nominations to include projects from the City of Tijuana in an effort to promote great design on both sides of the border. The success of the program relies heavily upon the citizens of San Diego and Tijuana as nominations and feedback of those nominations are integral to the planning, growth, and future development of our cross-border region.
