AIA LB/ SB COTE Presents: Pacific Beach EcoDistrict

Since 2013, EcoDistricts have been promoting a new model of urban development to empower just, sustainable, and resilient neighborhoods. The Protocol and EcoDistricts Certified guide city makers to take a collaborative, holistic, neighborhood-scale approach to community design to achieve rigorous, meaningful performance outcomes that matter to people and planet. Pacific Beach, CA is a real-world example of the application of the EcoDistrict Certified program within a local California community.

Learning Objectives:

  • Attendees will learn about the EcoDistrict Certified program and its goal to become a new model for urban development.

  • Attendees will learn about the 3 Imperatives of the EcoDistrict Certified program and how they were applied to Pacific Beach.

  • Attendees will discuss the steps Pacific Beach took to register and begin the EcoDistrict Certified process.

  • Attendees will learn about the positive impact that the EcoDistrict Certified Program has had on the Pacific Beach Community.
