1LU | Getting To Zero: Sustainable Healthcare

Join the healthcare committee to learn about sustainable strategies for medical applications.

This course takes on the perception that sustainable, net-zero designs cannot be implemented in healthcare projects. It also proves that higher performance doesn’t have to mean higher cost. Using a case study of the first net zero medical office building as a reference, this course highlights design strategies that can be used in healthcare applications to improve the performance of buildings. It identifies some of the unique challenges of healthcare projects from a sustainability standpoint and proposes options to resolve these.
