Join us for a week long program of FREE virtual events geared at providing connection, coaching, and consulting for the next generation of professionals in our field!

Tuesday, 3/8 Noon | Learn: Meet & Greet with Local Schools of Architecture

Aimed at students interested in pursuing degree programs in architecture and design, this session will feature representatives from leading So-Cal universities and colleges who will outline the application process, academic programs, campus life, tuition and housing costs, and any other questions you may have.

Panelists:

Jennifer Park | USC

Jennifer Park counsels prospective freshman and transfer students regarding admission policies and procedures for the USC School of Architecture. In addition, she is the point of contact for high school students interested in the Summer Exploration of Architecture program.

Mark Cabrinha | Cal Poly SLO

Mark is the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs in the CAED with focus on student success, including interdisciplinary engagement, developing diversity, equity and inclusion in the college, and working closely with the dean and associate dean for program support and operations to further the mission of the college. Prior to joining Cal Poly in 2002, he practiced as a registered architect in Chicago for seven years, with a focus on developing innovative learning environments for K-12 schools.

Aaron Gensler | Woodbury University

Aaron Gensler is an architect, educator, and thought leader based in Los Angeles. She is one half of GenslerClipp—an architecture, design, and research practice based in southern California. Prior to forming GenslerClipp, she held design positions at a diverse array of firms from Los Angeles to Rwanda.

In addition to her professional work with GenslerClipp, Aaron is an Assistant Professor and the Chair of the Undergraduate and Graduate Architecture Programs at Woodbury University in Los Angeles. She serves on the National Council for Madame Architect and is a member of the Board of Trustees for California College of the Arts.

Aaron received her Master of Architecture from Cornell University where she was awarded the Alpha Rho Chi Medal and, more recently, was awarded a Robert James Eidlitz Travel Fellowship. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from Middlebury College where she received several accolades from the Middlebury Museum of Art, Chellis House and the KCACTF for her work.

Joseph Lucindo | Palomar College

Joseph Lucido is an accomplished professional with over a two decades of experience in architecture, graphic's, and sustainable design with projects throughout California, Oregon and Florida. He has personally overseen the development and financing of rural and urban properties with complex infrastructure. With a commitment to education, he currently acts as the department head for Palomar College Architecture department.

Ramiro Diaz-Granados | SCI-Arc

Ramiro Diaz-Granados is from Los Angeles and received his B.Arch from SCI-Arc in 1996 and his M.Arch from UCLA in 2003. At UCLA he won the SOM Master Travelling Fellowship. In addition to being a full-time faculty at SCI-Arc he has also been a visiting faculty at UCLA, the University of Kentucky, and the Technological University in Lund, Sweden. He is the founder and principal of Amorphis, a design and architecture office. Recently the office completed the design, fabrication, and installation of a permanent intervention for a new building on the campus of Oregon State University. Ramiro has also participated in individual and group exhibitions, including one as a COLA fellow sponsored by the Dept of Cultural Affairs. Prior to founding Amorphis he worked with Gnuform, led by Jason Payne and Heather Roberge. Currently his research interests reside at the intersection of optical media, representation, and craft.

Stephanie Powers | NewSchool of Architecture and Design

As the Assistant Director Of Admissions at NewSchool of Architecture & Design, Stephanie is proud to be able to help and support future creative design leaders to thrive and flourish. She received her undergraduate degree in Fine Art at Eastern Washington University, and has used her creative skills in many other fields such as; the medical community, publishing, advertising, marketing, technology, the app world and finally education.
