The 4th Annual 1.5°C Symposium on Climate Change, aka ‘1.5 Degrees Celsius’
Over the course of two Fridays for half a day, on March 5th and 12th, AIALA Committee on the Environment will be presenting the 4th annual 1.5°C Symposium on Climate Change. Renamed “1.5 Degrees Celsius” from 2 Degrees Celsius, the Symposium underscores the urgency for the design and construction industries to provide carbon-mitigating solutions, which will prevent the global temperatures from rising more than 1.5 degrees above pre-industrial levels.
A diverse set of presenters will focus on a wide range of topics, inclusive of Carbon Neutrality, Healthy Building Environments, Resiliency, and Equity. Such keynote-speakers as Farhana Yamin, an international environmental lawyer and activist, who has co-authored a number of international treaties on climate change, including the Paris Climate Agreement, will lead the days’s sessions.
