The Next Urbanism: Designing Ideas for San Diego

Don’t miss a special encore presentation by urban designer Howard Blackson, who has presented this discussion to a variety of civic groups. A site designer and regulatory “wrangler” from the contextual school of thought, Howard is currently is a member of the Balboa Park Committee where he will serve on the upcoming design review assistance subcommittee.

Howard is a longtime leader in the Congress for the New Urbanism. He earned a bachelor’s degree in geography at the University of Texas at Austin and a master’s in urban design at the University of Westminster, London. He lives in South Park.

RDAC meets on the 2nd Wednesday of each month at Noon

The Regional Design Advisory Council (RDAC) operates under the auspices of the Advocacy Commission and meets monthly. Members include design professionals interested in helping to shape San Diego’s future and address the “big picture” issues in the region.
