Meet up with our friends over at AIA Kansas City for an in-depth look at award-winning projects. The June program will feature BNIM's amazing project, Palomar Community College Maintenance and Operations Complex, located right here in San Diego!
Net zero energy performance has long been a seemingly ambitious dream for project owners, designers, and builders, relegating the reasoning to cost or complexity. However, this outdated narrative is experiencing a paradigm shift across the nation.
Join AIA Kansas City and AIA San Diego as we take a virtual tour of the AIA Kansas City 2020 Design Award winning Palomar Community College Maintenance and Operations Complex, completing documentation for Living Building Petal Certification, including confirmed Net Zero energy performance. Representatives of the project owner, architect, engineer, and construction teams will dynamically guide the audience through a virtual walking tour of this extraordinary community college maintenance facility project.
The tour will showcase the creative strategies, priorities, and systems used to deliver a net-zero energy building on a community college project budget. But high energy performance isn’t exclusive to California! The audience will also learn how the Palomar project strategies have been leveraged in the Kansas City market on two local Community College projects to drive performance to near and net zero in the extreme temperatures of the midwestern climate.
This event is virtual, and a link will be sent to you the day of the program.
