2014 Call for Nominations for Fellowship

AIA San Diego issues the annual  CALL FOR NOMINATIONS:

The American Institute of Architects College of Fellows. The San Diego Chapter of The American Institute of Architects is soliciting nominations for 2014 AIA Fellowship.

Background: The College of Fellows (COF) of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), founded in 1952, is composed of members of the Institute who are elected to Fellowship by a jury of their peers. Fellowship is one of the highest honors the AIA can bestow upon a member. Elevation to Fellowship not only recognizes the achievements of the architect as an individual but also elevates before the public and the profession those architects who have made significant contributions to architecture and to society. The purpose of the College of Fellows is to stimulate a sharing of interests among Fellows, to promote the purposes of the Institute, to advance the profession of architecture, and to be of ever-increasing service to society.

The AIA San Diego Chapter Fellowship Committee (FC) is comprised of:

·         David N. Moon, FAIA, Chair

·         Richard M. Heinz, FAIA

·         Ione Steigler, FAIA

·         Kurt C. Hunker, FAIA

·         Stanley C. Livingston, FAIA Emeritus

·         Doug Paterson, AIA, Immediate Past President, AIA San Diego Chapter

Eligible candidates who wish to be supported by formal nomination from the AIA San Diego Chapter should provide a Letter of Interest to the Fellowship Committee which includes the following:

·         Candidate’s statement of interest

·         Identification of the object/category candidate intends to pursue

·         General outline of candidate’s storyline

·         List of significant achievements in relation to storyline

·         Proposed Sponsor (preferred) and potential/possible references

·         Any other information that you believe would be helpful in evaluating the candidate’s impact in advancing the profession of architecture

Only those candidates supported by the AIA San Diego Chapter Fellowship nomination and submission review process will receive nomination from the AIA San Diego Chapter.

Letters of Interest and supporting materials must be received by the AIA San Diego Chapter no later than 5:00PM June 12, 2013. If you should have any questions as related to submitting the Letter of Interest, please contact AIA San Diego at 619.232.0109
